“Come here, little girl...I’m going to teach you a lesson.” -- Renee Rose's Bossman is on sale this week!

Good morning, and happy Monday! Today, Renee Rose is paying us a visit, and guess what? She's got a sale going on! This cover is so totally swoonworthy.

Renee:

Thanks so much for having me and my Italian Stallions over for a visit today! The Bossman, Book one in the three book BDSM mafia series, is on sale this week for $.99. I’m hoping readers will give it a try and get into the series, which I had a blast writing. There’s something so appealing about the “bad boy.”

The Bossman, winner of the Eroticon USA’s Erotic Author is a spanking/BDSM romance set in Chicago between a mafia boss and the daughter of a deceased member of the mob. After her father died, she and her mother distanced themselves from the mafia, but when Joey La Torre shows up at her workplace, she finds herself drawn to his dominant style.

From USA TODAY BEST-SELLING AUTHOR RENEE ROSE...

The Don's brother.

The girl who swore off all mafia ties.

Sophie steered clear of the mafia after her father's involvement ended with his murder. Fifteen years later, Joey La Torre, the Don's brother himself, shows up unannounced at her massage studio and wheedles his way into a date. She has no interest in aggressive, macho men like Joey, or so she tries to tell herself, but her body just doesn't get the message. When Joey takes her in hand with a firm bare-bottomed spanking, she ought to be furious, instead, she's aroused. As she explores her physical desires to be dominated, she tries to keep Joey at arm's length emotionally.

Joey knows he wants Sophie for keeps from the moment he walks into her life. She is hot, classy and full of fire, even though submission turns her on. But his involvement in the mafia is a hard limit for her, bringing to conflict his own dedication to the Family, the code of silence and his relationship with his older brother. Can he reconcile his duty to the organization and his growing need for Sophie to remain in his life permanently?

And now for a sizzling excerpt.

By the time Joey arrived, she was two strokes away from another orgasm. He strode into the room, looking every inch the badass he was. “I thought I told you to keep that door locked,” he growled.

She sat up in the bed, alert to the possibility he was serious. “Sorry, sir.”

A twitch of his lip gave him away. “Do you need me to help you remember?” he asked, slowly unbuckling his belt.

She scrambled backward on the bed. “No, sir.”

He smiled a slow, dangerous smile as he pulled the belt free of his belt loops and doubled it, smacking his palm with a resounding whap. He grinned when she jumped at the sound. “Come here, little girl,” he said, crooking a finger. “I’m going to teach you a lesson.”

She crawled slowly off the bed and approached, trying to figure out how she could call the whole thing off. As if there was an audience she didn’t want to hear, she whispered, “I didn’t really want, I mean--”

He put an arm around her waist and pulled her body up against his, smirking down at her and lifting his eyebrows. “You didn’t want a spanking?”

She gave a tiny shake of her head. “No?”

“I think you do,” he said, brushing his lips over her temple. “I think you want the spanking, but you’re just a little scared.” He nipped at her neck. “Am I right?”

Saturday Spankings -- Come Back to Me

http://saturdayspankings.blogspot.com/?zx=52ce04d415e0751f

Hello, and welcome to this Saturday Spankings blog hop!

Today, I'm sharing an excerpt from my latest release, Come Back to Me, the second book in the Bound to You trilogy. Meredith and Paolo have begun embracing their new-found roles as Dominant and Submissive, and they're still learning how this will work for them.

In this excerpt, Meredith was given specific instructions that she disobeyed. She's afraid to tell him the truth, but knows the only way they will continue is if she confesses the truth...

 She felt her lip trembling.
“I was wrong. I know I was. And...” her voice dropped. It was still so hard to say. “I'm sorry I disobeyed you.”
He said nothing as he gave her a long, hard look.
“I'm glad to hear that,” he said, leaning closer to her and taking her face in both hands so that they were only inches away when he whispered, “Because I'm totally fucking serious.”
Fear and arousal, shame and curiosity, awe and foreboding...she felt consumed by conflicting emotions, as he continued.
“Go to our bedroom and wait for me there.”

7 Ways to Get Started Marketing Your Work

7 WAYS TO GET STARTED MARKETING YOUR WORK

So, you're just starting out, or maybe you've been writing for a while, but need to work on marketing yourself. Where to begin?
I'm new here myself, but I've put together a list of tips that others have passed on to me, that I've found helpful. I hope you do, too. :)

Before I begin with the seven tips I've gathered here, I'd like to offer a bit of perspective about the mindset. It's really important to understand that, as an author, you really are very similar to a small business. Small businesses need to get the word out about the services they offer. For our purposes, the “services” we offer are, of course, the books that we write. When you're new, or even if you're not, but you'd like to expand your readership, you have to find ways to tell people what services you offer. Readers have particular tastes, and are often reticent to spend money on products they may or may not like. For example, if one of my favorite authors comes out with a new release, I'm pretty likely to snag the book without look much past the blurb. But for a new author, I'm more likely to read a sample, read reviews, and see if other people also liked the books.

Now, it's true that if you're publishing with a traditional publishing company, the traditional publisher does some marketing for you. However, there are many books that are published weekly, so it's important to share with others what your flavor of books is like. People are much more likely to purchase a book by an author with a familiar name.

So how do you get started establishing readership? Here are seven tips I've gathered from a variety of sources. Please do feel free to share your tips as well!

1. GET IN TOUCH WITH OTHERS

Now, most tips that I've found that are helpful can be a bit intimidating at first. I think this is one area I found most challenging...getting to know others in the writing community.

I've got to say, the spanking writing community is a thriving community that I've found so supportive and helpful. Reach out, and you will find that many are willing and able to help you out. Before my first book was published, I wrote to a few authors I already knew, and every one of them wrote back to me, sharing invaluable tips and encouragment. How to reach out? Well, maybe you've read a book you loved. Take a minute to write to the author and tell them that you loved the book. Write a review. Support your fellow authors, and try to get to know them. Comment on their blog posts, or facebook statuses, or leave a review. There's truth in the adage, “To have good friends, be a good friend.”

2. GET SOCIAL

Facebook, Twitter, Instagram...there are many. Those are the only ones I use personally, and I'm really new to this, but it's fun to pop in and post a picture, get to know people, etc. You can also use an app to link all social media together. Spend a little time seeing what your favorite writers post, and learn how to do it yourself. It gets a little tricky if you have multiple accounts. One author recommended I use separate browers for each of my “personas” and I love that tip. I have also recently learned of apps that connect you via social media, and some find those save a lot of time.

Facebook – great to connect with others. Post on their statuses, see who has a new release coming, share your own work. I chose a pair of red lips holding a pen as my first profile page, but once you have your first book cover, that works really well as well.
Twitter – post links, cover reveals, one liners about your book, etc.
Instagram – anything and everything involving a picture.
Here's a great article with helpful tips: How Successful Authors Use Social Media

3. GET AN AUTHOR BLOG, EMAIL, AND AUTHOR PAGES

If you are going to be active in the writing community, then it only follows you need a way for people to connect with you. Some prefer to be very open socially and others more reserved; find what works best for you. Personally I use gmail for my e-mail, because on my phone I can do a very convenient drop-down feature to go right from my personal account to my author account. Love it.

Blogs are also tremendously helpful. When you have a blog, you can post about your upcoming release, and also join blog hops (more on that below). You can blog about the genre, post short stories, share your new cover, and the like. Take a look at some of your favorite authors' blogs, and see what you like about them. There are loads of helpful resources available for how to get started blogging. Blogger and Wordpress are two free platforms widely used by writers. There are others as well, but those are fairly common. Renee Rose has a great article on blogging here: GETTING BLOG HITS AND WEB TRAFFIC

Once your first book is published, it's time to set up an Amazon author page. This is very easy to do. Go to https://authorcentral.amazon.com/ and click Join Now. You'll need a bio, and there will also be an option to link your blog, so have at least one of those ready to go. In minutes, you'll have an Amazon author page.
Sign up for Goodreads as well! Amazon and Goodreads are connected, so many find that Goodreads pages automatically generate.

4. PARTICIPATE IN BLOG HOPS

Renee Rose and Cara Bristol have posted excellent articles that explain how to do a blog hop, the best ones to do, and why they benefit you as a writer.

Renee's article is here: BEST BLOG HOPS FOR EROTIC AUTHORS

5. HOST OTHERS AND PROMOTE THEIR WORK

Host others on your blog. Ask around to see if any are willing to host you on theirs. This is a fun, easy way to get social and have others share about your new book. Authors are frequently looking for more blog material, and typically are more than willing to have you come and pay them a visit!

What do you send them when you want to visit? What's typically recommended is a media kitn or press release kit. What's a media kit? Simply put, it's a file you can easily send to other authors for them to put straight on their blog. If it's easy for them, then they're more likely to want to host you. In a media kit, you want to do things like have a blurb about your new release, a cover (many prefer this sent separately), an excerpt, your bio, and links for where they can buy your book. HERE'S A HELPFUL ARTICLE. There are many more, if you spend a little time looking around.

6. JOIN FORUMS PARTICULARLY SUITED FOR YOUR GENRE:
RESOURCES:

Renee Rose: writesexright.com

ADDITIONAL RESOURCES:
So, you have a cover, but have you seen the cute graphics some use? A picture with a quote from a book that just drew you in? These are pretty easy to do. I've done my own by downloading free stock photos (be careful to read the fine print – some are not truly free) and using a free photo-editing software (Pixlr) to add a quote. Canva is also very popular!

You can also have someone do this for you. If you're looking for someone who does excellent work reasonably-priced, I recommend you get in touch with Summer Graystone: summergraystone@outlook.com (Facebook and Twitter banner ads for $5!)

BOOKBUB:
Bookbub is a newsletter marketing tool that reaches millions. If you submit your request to Bookbut to be featured, expect to be rejected initially. There is a fee, but if you are with a traditional publisher, ask them if they will cover the fee. And some find that it's a very worthwhile investment. The erotica category alone has over one million subscribers!

7. WRITE, WRITE, THEN WRITE SOME MORE!
I have good news. Even though things like social media, blog posts, and other marketing tools I've shared here can be really beneficial, one of the best ways to market youself is by doing something that most of us already love doing – writing! How does this work in your favor when it comes to marketing?

Simply put, when a reader reads and loves your book, the very first thing they will do is look to see what else you've written. So when you sit down to write, remember that publishing more books is going to really work in your favor as you establish creating your “brand,” and establishing a readership Keep on keepin' on when it comes to your writing.

Quick tip: one of the very best things I've found to help me with this personally, and I've heard others say the same, is to find the best time of day when the writing flows. Early morning is my favorite time, and some people like working during the day when the kids are at school, or at night when everyone is in bed. Write, write, and then write a little more. I know that if I write in the morning I can get 2,000 words in the same amount of time that I would only get 1,000 in the afternoon. So, I write in the morning and spend my time elsewhere in the afternoons. This is what works for me. I suggest spending just a bit of time finding what works best for you. And then, once you have, commit to a certain word count or time frame that you will devote exclusively to writing. Throw your phone in airplane mode and close all your browsers, and have at it!

If you have anything to add to this discussion, please comment below and I will edit the post! Thanks! :)

WIP it up Wednesday -- Come Back to Me

Hello, and welcome to this week's edition of WIP it up Wednesday!

This week, I'm excited to share an excerpt from my newest release, due out tomorrow! Come Back to Me is the sequel to my debut novel, Begin Again.

In this excerpt, Paolo has announced to Meredith that he has plans for her, an intense weekend training session that will help the two of them adjust to their roles as dominant and submissive. She's eager, but also more than a little nervous about what he has in store for her. She's been told to rate her level of pain...

Excerpt:

“Quiet now, bonita,” he said in a low command.
Meredith obeyed. She didn't know how long she stood waiting for him, acutely conscious of standing before him vulnerable and exposed, and aware of the fact that she was completely at his mercy. Her mind teemed with questions, but with an effort, she forced herself to quiet her mind. She focused instead on the wall in front of her. Cream-colored, it looked like a clean, a blank slate and to the right, just out of her vision, she could see the black edge of a framed print of their wedding day. As her breathing quieted, she could hear nothing but Paolo's breath behind her. She still felt a prickle curiosity and anticipation, but a calm had descended on the room.
“Are you cold, baby?” he asked softly. His voice was so husky, and the low rumble of his voice seemed like a rough caress.
“No, sir,” she whispered.
“Now, Meredith,” he said, his voice low, a rumbling whisper. “Tell me your thoughts now.”
“I don't really have anything to share,” she whispered. “I just feel...calm. Centered. Curious, but in a good way, like when you made me kneel to wait for you.”
“Good.Very good. You're a good girl.”
She felt his praise melt over her, sunshine and light.
Good girl.
He shifted behind her, and she heard the bed creak as he reached for something. She jumped as she heard the jingle of his belt buckle. Her breath caught and her heart began to race.
“Remember your numbers, Meredith.”

Guest visit from Amelia Smarts! “Someone’s got to keep you in line, and I guess that’s got to be me.”

Hello, readers! Today, I'm hosting the lovely Amelia Smarts, sharing with us her latest release, His Little Red Lily.

Click the pic to one-click!

About His Little Red Lily

Lily has dreamed of performing on stage since she was a small child, and at the age of eighteen she approaches Jesse, the owner of the local saloon, to ask for a job singing and dancing for his customers. Lily has been secretly in love with Jesse ever since the day he took it upon himself to comfort her when she was in tears one day in town, and that only makes it more painful when he refuses to hire her, telling her that a saloon is no place for a sweet, innocent girl like her.

Determined to convince him to change his mind, Lily returns the next day. Within moments of stepping through the doors of Jesse’s establishment, however, she finds herself pulled over his knee for a good, hard spanking followed by an embarrassing scolding and a stern warning never to set foot in the saloon again.

Though Jesse tells her to forget about both him and the saloon and find herself a proper, respectable husband, he cannot keep Lily off his mind, even after she takes his advice to heart and begins courting the town’s self-righteous preacher. The situation comes to a head when Jesse catches the preacher in the midst of a vicious crime against one of the saloon girls.

Terrified for Lily’s safety, Jesse takes matters into his own hands and informs her of his feelings for her. He makes it clear that he considers it his duty to provide her with both the love and attention she craves as well as the firm discipline she has needed for so long. But with her former suitor bent on revenge and trying to run Jesse out of town, can he keep his little Lily safe and keep the saloon in business at the same time?

Publisher’s Note: His Little Red Lily is an erotic romance novel that contains includes spankings, sexual scenes, and elements of age play. If such material offends you, please don’t buy this book.

And now for an excerpt (one of my favorite scenes!!):

“Lily, you in here?” he called at the entrance of the barn.

Her faint voice answered him. “Yes, I’m over by the ladder.”

Jesse ambled to where the ladder leaned against the loft of the barn. He didn’t see her there, so he thought she might have moved farther back. He should have known something was amiss by then, but she always managed to catch him by surprise. On that day, Lily was hidden in the loft above him holding an armful of hay. When he walked past the ladder, she dropped it on him. She squealed with delighted laughter as the heap landed squarely over his head and shoulders. He came to a dead stop. Slowly, he brushed the hay off the sleeves of his starched white shirt. He said nothing as he removed his hat and slapped it against his knee to shake off the hay and dust from it.

She was still giggling when he glared up at her and said, “You’re getting spanked for that one.”

She stopped laughing and her eyes rounded. “But it was only a joke.”

“Mm hmm. A naughty joke, by a naughty little girl who needs her bottom smacked. Get down here.”

“No! I won’t come down unless you promise not to spank me.”

“You will get down here, and you’ll be right quick about it. You have five seconds. One…”

She huffed. “What happens if you count all the way to five?”

Jesse didn’t really know, but he managed to sound ominous in his threat. “You’d best avoid finding out, little miss. Two…”

Lily scrambled to the ladder. Jesse held it steady while she climbed down. When he could reach her, he wrapped an arm around her waist and plucked her off the step. He easily carried her squirming little body against his and strode to a bench, where he sat and toppled her over his lap.

“I thought you liked my jokes!” she protested as he tossed up her skirts.

“I do,” he said, grasping her drawers and shoving them to her knees. “That doesn’t change the fact that you need a spanking.” He gave her bottom a sound swat, relishing the look and feel of her smooth, bare skin that bounced against his hand and took on a blushing pink color from the very first smack. “You’re very naughty. That means you’re going to have a sore backside more often than not, I’m afraid.”

She squirmed as he landed more moderate swats. “Someone’s got to keep you in line, and I guess that’s got to be me.”

She giggled suddenly, then clamped her hand over her mouth.

“I heard that,” he said in a mock stern voice. “What do you find so funny about getting a spanking?”

“It’s just that…” She dissolved into laughter again.

“I’m waiting,” he said, struggling not to smile. He rubbed her bottom and legs while he waited for an answer.

“It’s just that this spanking doesn’t hurt at all.” She laughed again.

“I see.” He landed another swat. “That can change in a jiffy, you know. Do you want it to hurt?”

“No!”

He chuckled and reached for her drawers to pull them up, but she stopped him.

“Please, Jesse, I want to lie here over your lap for a bit. Will you rub my bottom like you were doing? It feels so nice.”

His cock came to life upon hearing that request, which she uttered so unabashedly. Clearing his throat, he said, “I’d be happy to, naughty girl.”

And here's my review!

5 *'s
This sweet story about Lily, a young woman who's fallen hard for Jesse, the widowed saloon owner who is thirteen years her senior, had me turning pages straight through. I like that Lily wasn't a petulant or childish main character, found so often in books with a DD flair, but rather honest and relatable. Her attraction to Jesse is sweet, and his manner with her heartwarming. For her own good, he puts off her interest in him despite his own attraction to her,, and encourages her to seek courtship in a younger man more suitable to her. She takes his advice to heart, but the result is not exactly what Jesse bargained for.

I love that once again, Amelia brings us a strong, capable heroine, and a stern but sweet hero. The age play elements are very mild, and even those who may not necessarily enjoy age play will likely find it endearing. I did. Lily's attraction to Jesse as both her caretaker, disciplinarian, and lover, is a beautiful conflict well explored in this uplifting read.

Do yourself a favor, and pick this up today!

About Amelia Smarts
#1 Amazon Bestseller in Historical Erotica and Erotic Westerns!

I'm an author of romance novels featuring domestic discipline/spanking. Usually my stories involve a cowboy, and they always involve a man's firm hand connecting with a woman's naughty backside. It's important to me that I tell a good story in addition to portraying hot sex and discipline scenes. I write complex, flawed heroes and heroines who struggle and succeed in their journey to love and happiness.

I hold graduate and undergraduate degrees in creative writing and English, and I love the written word. If you'd like to talk books with me, feel free to drop me a note at amelia_smarts@yahoo.com. Happy reading!

Saturday Spankings -- Come Back to Me

Hello, and welcome to this edition of Saturday Spankings! I'm so excited to announce that Come Back to Me is slated to be released by Thursday or Friday of this week. Yay!!

Meredith and Paolo are reunited after a devastating accident drove them apart, in the hopes that embracing a lifestyle of Dominance and Submission will rekindle the passion they once had. The premise is very simple: Meredith will obey Paolo, and he will enforce his expectation of her obedience.

But where do they go from here? Paolo proposes a plan that will raise the stakes, a weekend of intense training that will push them both to the edge of their limits as they embrace their new-found roles.

Is Meredith prepared to be stripped of the protective wall she's built around herself? Will she willingly trust Paolo to lead her—even if that means submitting herself to his discipline? Can Paolo be all that she needs — her leader, protector, and disciplinarian, but most of all...her lover?

This is the second book in Meredith and Paolo's "Bound to You" trilogy, a story of love, trust, and devotion, as one couple rekindles their love through the passionate, erotic intimacy of Dominance and Submission.

And heeere is the lovely cover. I truly love this cover.

Excerpt:

Meredith knew what she yearned for. Forgiveness. She wanted to put this behind them...She wanted him to forgive her.
You know now, bonita, that forgiveness lies over my knee.
She wanted to forgive herself.
She heard him coming down the hall. Taking a deep breath, she squared her shoulders. She would face it, face whatever he doled out, knowing full well she deserved it. No, she would not make excuses. She would take her punishment, and take her own step toward reconciliation.
The door to the bedroom opened, and she almost lost her resolve...

New release! "Relish" by Susannah Shannon

Hello, readers! Been a bit busy here behind the scenes, and haven't been blogging much lately. I'm excited to get back into blogging by announcing the release of my friend Susannah Shannon's second book in the Cass Chronicles...Relish!

I loved her first book, Roasted. If you haven't read that one yet, do! So fun, sexy, and a totally unique read. I loved reading the continuing story of Cass and Killian's wild, Alaskan romance.

I love that they're just normal, everyday people that are relatable and lovable!

Book #2 in the Cass Chronicles

Cass Nelson has gotten used to blizzards, wolves and being an outsider in Slicktrench

Alaska.. While she couldn't be happier in her marriage to Killian, the arrival of a surprise package is a potent reminder that her marriage isnt like the relationships her friends all have. She might not understand this whole being a submissive wife business, but she does understand that she can't imagine living a life without the man she adores even if he lights up her bottom on a regular basis.

Busy with helping to run the lodge and posting on her very popular CassCooks blog, her life tips upside down with having to deal with Killian's brother who is marrying a woman that nobody likes and an IRS auditor nosing around the lodge. Just when Cass has decided that the best way to insure a happy marriage is to totally give up her own dreams, she is offered her own TV show. Her decision to not share this information with her husband will cause all sorts of different kinds of reverberations.

Will wedding bells ring and is that howling coming from the wolves outside or the wife inside when her husband discovers that his precious wife is holding back her own secrets?

You had no idea Alaska could be this hot.

And how about an excerpt?

There was a photo album her mother had sent. Cass’s mother had been a serious scrapbooker all of Cass’s life and the digital revolution had hit her hard. She just could not give up her deckle edgedscissors, so her children still received fussily decorated scrapbooks several times a year. She set the stack of bills aside and turned her attention to the other package. It had been shipped to a C Nelson c/o a post office box. Cass wasn’t aware of having a PO box. Maybe it just automatically happened when you moved here, she thought. She used a spare key that was deep in the recesses of her bag to slit open the paper tape. Digging through the packing peanuts she spied something that was bright blue. She reached in and to her amazement was pulling a small bright blue paddle out of the box when the passenger door swung open.

She stuffed the vividly colored contraband back into the box with such force that she broke though the bottom of the parcel. She had unleashed a torrent of static ridden packing peanuts that suddenly
seemed to fill up the jeep.

“What’s in the box?” queried her mother in law. Cass tossed the box over her shoulder. It arced, leaking like a rocket shedding jet fuel , into the back seat. Cassandra spat out a packing peanut. As
per usual when she was caught off guard she began to babble.

"Mom sent me a scrapbook you can’t see it now. I’ll show you later, but I’ll definitely show you later. Nothing to hide.” She cackled like a lunatic of criminal intent. “Or maybe the cake pans were in here. I’m not sure. Something was in there. But it really doesn’t matter. We have to get home right now!” Hazel was deep in her own
thoughts and barely seemed to notice the bizarre behavior of her daughter-in-law.

Cass was unsure how she would distract her mother-in-law long enough to smuggle into the lodge the S&M contraband that she had apparently been too drunk to know she was having delivered to the PO box that she didn’t know that she had. She needn’t have worried. Hazel said,”Oh I forgot to put clean towels in cabin 2. I’ll unload the jeep later,” and nearly threw herself out of the still moving jeep as soon as they were through the open gates of the lodge.

I live in the American midwest with my family. I write romances that are funny(well, I try).

I love the inner conflict of a smart, modern, independent woman who longs to submit to that one special man.
